Speaker 1

What's going on, everybody? I'm Jalen Hurts. I'm here in the city of Philadelphia with Truist. They armed me with my Visa card. I'm ready to make a difference in the city on an off day. Ready to make some kids smile, change some lives, and I'll make a difference. So let's go. We're here. And MJ in Philly. What a surprise.

00:16:15 - 00:24:15

Speaker 1

A kid showing some love lets go and you know, on what I.

00:25:09 - 00:45:01

Speaker 2

KB Foundation is a youth mentorship group focused on exposure to expose them to something new, help them identify an interest, help them identify a purpose. And so they could say, well, okay, if Jalen Hurts is kind of guiding me along the way and that like, okay, maybe I should give this a shot.

00:45:01 - 01:05:15

Speaker 1

Yeah. Now we're going. We're going to work to be high school. I'm going to be linking up with food, teachers, my kale, my good friends. They find a way of making food to make a difference. And that's what they want to do. So to be of service for them and to help them live out their dream of creating that change.

01:05:15 - 01:08:21

Speaker 1

I think that's big and I'm just happy to be a part of what they've got in motion.

01:10:03 - 01:33:03

Speaker 3

So we cooked lunch for you guys, and Nick's family, and we brought a very special guest for y'all. Who's the real MVP?

01:34:02 - 01:54:10

Speaker 1

Appreciate for having me here today. I just really want to spend some time with you guys. I know we've been going through some tough times in this community. I know it hasn't been easy, but we're doing it together. We're going through it together. We are here for one another. If there's anything that I've learned about this city, city of Philadelphia is we're going to do everything together.

01:54:20 - 02:20:09

Speaker 1

And so everybody in this room got to support the next person and be there for the next person. So I appreciate your having me. God bless. Let's enjoy the food bowl. I think the biggest, the city of Philadelphia. This city has a lot of pride. I think the kids don't realize how much people like me care for them and want them to be successful.

02:20:09 - 02:37:19

Speaker 1

We want them to achieve their dreams and chase their dreams. So we just want to show them that we care. I know me personally taking the time to come out here. I just want to show them that I care about them, care about their their lives, their futures and where they're going. We are at Truist in Philadelphia. Were about to go.

02:37:19 - 03:02:23

Speaker 1

Surprise. Allison she's Operation Hope coach. She's doing a really big things in the community, teaching our community about financial literacy. We're going to go surprise her, give her some tickets to the game, show her some appreciation for what she's doing. You're a package, Allison. And the first I want to say thank you.

03:02:23 - 03:03:07

Speaker 4

Oh, my.

03:03:07 - 03:12:01

Speaker 1

Gosh. Every time you know, Operation Hope, everything you're doing in the city, for you to be doing that in this community, I am are so to.

03:12:01 - 03:22:22

Speaker 4

Be thanked was really really was really wonderful by him. I know he's a busy guy and to to take time out of his day to do that was really he's really lovely.

03:26:06 - 03:37:02

Speaker 1

We are the last stop of the day I'm in the heart of Philly at the hand gather center I got with Truist. They hooked me up with a visa. I heard they needed some coats, so let's go do it.

03:37:03 - 03:41:22

Speaker 3

I'm sure I'm so.

03:41:22 - 04:05:00

Speaker 1

I'm so I'm so happy and honored to be here with you guys. And more importantly, I heard you guys needed some codes, so I wanted to hook you guys up with some new codes. Make sure you are taking care of. I want to say I appreciate your everything just about so all of this is about child. It's about servicing you guys, helping you guys and make you see are more suitable for what's to come.

04:05:03 - 04:25:23

Speaker 1

So thank you. I just want to say thank you for the helping hand and Truist is giving me to help this community. This is a city that needs it. This is a city that is a beautiful, wonderful city. And I just want to say thank you for allowing us to serve. Now.

George W. Nebinger Elementary School

Finding your personal purpose is key to success for Truist teammates, for Jalen Hurts, and for the kids in the KB Foundation. Jalen sat in with students in the program to help them find their inspiration and motivation.

00:00:05:17 - 00:00:39:19

What's going on, guys? We're hearing Nebinger in Philly about a surprise, the kids. Show some love lets go. Brady that could be oh, no, no, no, no, no. I named Jalen Hurts, and I am most importantly interested in showing you guys and uplifting you guys to go out there to see whatever you put your mind to. So one of the things that we're doing today with Jalen is we're doing an exercise called Healthy People Ask one of our biggest issues with our youth is when they're struggling with something, whether that's bad grades, an issue at home, an issue with their family.

00:00:40:00 - 00:01:01:15

They don't ask for help. They don't know who to ask and they don't know where to go, and they keep it to themselves. And so the idea is hopefully at the end of this exercise, they see that someone like Jalen may have struggled with the same things. And then he can talk about actually how he he thinks it's important to ask for help and reach out to mentors, to teachers, to parents.

00:01:02:00 - 00:01:22:12

And so they can say, well, okay, so, you know, if Jalen Hurts is kind of guiding me along the way and that like, okay, maybe I should give this a shot. I think, I just think it's important to ask for help. I think it's important to know the people around you that are trying to help you, trying to guide you, trying to guide you to success, to get lonely when you're trying to do everything by yourself.

00:01:22:12 - 00:01:42:17

Yes. Really long drive strength from others knowing that they will help you get to where you want to go. The crowd you're around is a direct reflection of what you want to be. Birds of a feather flock together. This is a strong room here with big dreams and big goals. And every person in this room, why not use the person next to you?

00:01:42:17 - 00:02:03:00

Why not use the mentors in this room? Because it's all positive guidance. So a positive influence. And ultimately it's okay to ask for help. It's okay to ask. Well, we all we all need I need it. We all need.

Yeah. Now we're going we're going to Walter B. high school, going to be linking up with food teachers. My kale and my good friends. They find a way of making food to make a difference. And that's what they want to do. So to be of service for them and to help them live out that dream of creating that change, I think that's big and I'm just happy to be a part of what they got in motion.

00:00:30:23 - 00:00:36:01

Speaker 2

So we could watch the guy next to me and he got a very special.

00:00:36:01 - 00:00:46:20

Speaker 3

Guest role. I think we should bring them out, especially when it's a monster movie that everybody in the nation 24 hours mean.

00:00:46:23 - 00:01:18:01

Speaker 1

This guy appreciates for having me here today. I just really want this special time with you guys. I know we've been going through some tough times in this community. I know it hasn't been easy, but we're doing it together. We're going through it together, and we are here for one another. That's that's the most important thing.

00:01:18:03 - 00:01:30:23

Speaker 2

Food is our love. We just the way we talk to everyone. Just get you a bunch of food. So we were like, if we could just get to and there's someone that worked in a district, they knew how to get to her to invite her today. So it all came together.

00:01:31:01 - 00:01:51:05

Speaker 1

If there's anything that I've learned about this city, the city of Philadelphia is we're going to do everything together. And so everybody in this room got to support the next person and be there for the next person. So I appreciate you all for having me. God bless. Let's enjoy the food then. Those are high school kids that they are curious.

00:01:51:05 - 00:02:06:07

Speaker 1

They they have been trained. They have big things they want to accomplish. Awesome. You just urging them to continue to chase whatever dream that they have. And so regardless of where you come from, you know, you have to really believe it. I just want them to believe in themselves.

And more importantly, I heard you guys needed some of needed some coats. How would you guys use and coats for this? There's winter. So I wanted to help you guys up with some new coats.

00:00:51:18 - 00:01:11:12

Speaker 1

Make sure you are the warm wherever you are. Like make sure you are taken care of again. I'm so I'm so honored to be here. 00:01:12:08 - 00:01:48:11

Speaker 1

So, so now we're going to get to our coats. I know I woke up here was real cool today and just our yard coats may see you soon and I ready to go now let me make myself clear. Don't always have to be a football player. A basketball player or athletic. They don't always have to be to ask who can be a lawyer?

00:01:48:11 - 00:02:09:22

Speaker 1

You can be a veterinarian, you can be a doctor, you can be a teacher or a firefighter. Whatever you want to do, you can beat it. You just got to put your mind to that. Teach me so much. If I teach me one day, I'll even realize this is this is big for me. I'm so excited to be able to.

Check out other days of care.
