Overdraft fees happen when you spend more than you have in your checking account—but you won’t get any with a Truist One Checking or Truist Confidence Account.
Overdraft services help make sure your transactions go through when you need them to. Here’s how they work:
Overdraft Protection1 Link another Truist account, like a savings account, to your checking account. If you overdraft your checking account, we’ll automatically transfer available funds to your checking account from the linked account to allow the transaction to go through. There’s no fee for this service.
Overdraft Coverage2 Allows us to pay ATM and one-time debit card transactions when your available balance can’t cover the transaction. You may be charged a $36 fee for each overdraft transaction—and can be charged up to three fees per day. If the original transaction amount is less than $5, we will not charge an overdraft fee.
